New Fraxel Dual Wavelength Laser
Laser Skin Care has now had six months experience with the new Fraxel Dual Re:store laser
We are very excited with the results that are unfolding with the new Thulium wavelength.
Stubborn pigmentary conditions such as melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which were unresponsive to bleaching creams and other laser treatments, have been showing rapid response to one or two treatments.
Treatment comfort is excellent, and is followed by two days of redness, and then 4 days of a fine bronzed peel. After one week all patients commented on how fresh and clear their skin appeared. The clarity of treated skin was significantly better as assessed by our treating doctors.
The Fraxel Dual Re:store laser is an updated version of the wonderful Fraxel laser that we have had at Laser Skin Care since 2006. The Fraxel Dual system combines the Erbium 1550 nm wavelength with a new Thulium 1927 nm laser.
The two components have separate but complementary actions. The erbium laser is a deep penetrating wavelength which stimulates deep dermal collagen remodelling, and which is indicated for improvement of acne and other scarring and lines and wrinkles. The thulium laser acts on the upper dermis and epidermis, and is particularly useful for pigmentary disorders and surface textural improvement of the skin. Significant improvement can be achieved in one to two treatments.
The treatment with both wavelengths can be combined together, or used alone.
