CoolSculpting
Fat Reduction

Freeze unwanted fat away, today!

CoolSculpting technology safely delivers precise controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin while leaving the skin itself unaffected. The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), then die. Over time, your body will naturally process the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you. No surgery, no anaesthesia, no downtime.

How does CoolSculpting work?

CoolSculpting works by using Cryolipolysis, which means to freeze the unwanted fat cells in the targeted area. Fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than the surrounding tissues, this means it can selectively target these areas. Over time, your body goes through a process of eliminating these dead fat cells, leading to more slimmer and toned appearance.

Preparation

Here are 5 things you should do before the day of your treatment.

1. Avoid taking any medications or supplements that thin your blood, such as aspirin, fish oil or St. Johns Wort.  These all have blood thinning properties that can make you more susceptible to bruising. It’s best to stop taking them at least one week before your session. However, before doing that please talk to your family doctor to make sure it’s okay. Your doctor may also suggest alternative medications that you can take during this time.

2. Avoid damaging your skin in the target area. The CoolSculpting® treatment involves some massaging and suctioning of the area being treated. If your skin is cut or excessively bruised, you might need to postpone your treatment to prevent your wound from getting worse.

3. Avoid tanning your skin in the target area. Tanning can make your skin more sensitive to treatment. To minimize discomfort, it’s best to protect your skin from the sun exposure before your treatment.

4. Eat healthy before your treatment. A healthy body makes it easier and faster for results to appear, since you’ll be functioning at an optimal level.

5. You might want to consider stopping smoking for about a week before your session, too. Smoking can impede the healing process, delaying your results.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the advantages of Laser over IPL hair removal?

At Laser Skin Care, we see many patients who have undergone and failed IPL hair removal treatment. Widespread promotion of IPL hair removal treatments rarely mentions the failure rate, or the other relatively common issue with IPL's - paradoxical stimulation of hair growth (where underpowered treatment stimulates hair growth). This is quite common in darker skin types - eg, olive mediterranean people, Indian and Asian skins.

    • We have had over 18 years experience with treating darker skin types safely & effectively.
    • Don't trust your skin to poorly trained practitioners with inferior equipment.
    • True laser hair removal can only be performed by registered medical practitioners and fully qualified therapists in Western Australia.

  • What do I need to do to prepare for my Laser Hair Removal appointment?

    • Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment.• Do not wax in the 4 weeks leading up to your appointment as pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective.• Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks prior to your treatment and always protect the skin with sunscreen.

  • How often do I need to get Laser Hair Removal?

Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6 week intervals. Each part of the body has a different hair growing cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment.

  • Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

One of the benefits of laser hair removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. Our advanced cooling machines used in all laser treatments cools your skin before, during and post treatment to minimise any discomfort.
