Nd:YAG Q-Switch Tattoo & Pigment Laser
The gold standard in Laser Tattoo Removal and Pigmentation
Laser Skin Care offers over 20 years experience in laser treatment for pigment & tattoo removal. In 2012 we purchased the new Nd:YAG Q-Switch laser – the most flexible pigment laser available on the market today. The Nd:YAG Q-Switch laser is manufactured in the USA to exacting standards, and produces a flat-topped beam profile for reliable results with an excellent safety profile.
Why Nd:YAG Q-Switch laser?
Unlike any other machine in the market, Nd:YAG Q-Switch laser uses a patented technology called Photo-Acoustic Technology Pulse (PTP) energy for gentle skin rejuvenation by deep collagen stimulation.
The 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths of the Nd:YAG Q-Switch effectively target both superficial and deep pigmented lesions in the skin.
532nm is used for the treatment of surface skin pigmentation including freckles, lentigines (sun spots or age spots), flat seborrhoeic keratoses, and superficial birthmarks such as Cafe au Lait spots, naevus of Ota. It is also useful for the treatment of red tattoo ink.
Different Wavelengths
Nd:YAG Q-Switch laser 1064nm penetrates deeper into the skin and is used for deeper pigment treatment including treatment of melasma (hormonal pigmentation), post-inflammatory pigmentation, iron staining (eg, from iron infusions), and unusual pigmentation such as minomycin staining.
1064nm is the main laser we use for removal of black tattoos.
This procedure offers minimal discomfort and no – downtime skin rejuvenation.
Laser Tattoo Removal
The Nd:YAG Q-Switch laser successfully removes many tattoos over a course of treatment.
The pigment within the tattoo is made up of tiny granules – these are targeted by the laser in nanosecond pulses of energy. The effect is to shatter and disperse the pigment granules. These are then ingested (phagocytosed) by the white blood cells in the skin.
A typical course of treatment for a professional laser tattoo removal requires around 10 – 12 sessions.
Laser tattoo removal using Class 4 lasers can only be performed legally by registered medical practitioners in Western Australia. All of our treatments are performed by Doctors, who have the skill and expertise to get you safe and optimal results.
